Episode 5: The Peace Candidate: -Guest Preacher: Sunny Dawn Freeman Genz
I am writing because I feel, as American citizens, we have a very important role to play in the future of our country. Although I have been voting since I turned 18, I have never been affiliated, until now. I just registered as a democrat so that I can help Dennis J. Kucinich take his place in the White House. Dennis has inspired me, and renewed my faith in politics.
Dennis is honest and courageous. He voted against the Patriot Act and will have it repealed once he takes office. Heis dedicated to upholding civil rights. Dennis will help protect the environment. He will adhere to the Kyoto Protocol and invest in the development of renewable energy including solar, wind and hydrogen. Dennis will create a health care system that will cover everyone through 'Single Payer Universal Health Care,' where you pick your doctor, and he will say no to privatized healthcare and inflated health insurance costs.
Dennis will insure that everyone is entitled to an education, Pre-K through college, without charge. Dennis will protect workers and jobs, first by repealing NAFTA and withdrawing from the WTO. Dennis will protect consumers, requiring strict food safety including labeling of GMO's. He will uphold Roe v. Wade, (although he used to be pro-life) because he has discussed this issue with many women and now understands that women deserve the right to choose for themselves. Dennis will decriminalize marijuana use, offering treatment for those with abuse problems, and he knows there is a difference between use and abuse. Dennis has no problem resisting the influence of corporate power, for his track record proves this.
Dennis has a plan for bringing our troops home NOW. Dennis is the "Peace Candidate" (he was awarded the Ghandi Peace Award in 2003), and will create a Department of Peace, and denounce violence, foreign and domestic, in order for war to become archaic, as it should be.
Do not buy the crap that your television feeds you. Reality is what we make it! We can create a world that we will be proud to pass on to our children. I have seen Dennis' vision, I have made it my own. Because Dennis' ideals stand in stark contrast to those of the current administration, and because he offers real change, he has the best chance of beating Bush in the coming election. When Dennis became mayor of Cleveland (at age 31), Ohio State Senator, and then Congress member, he defeated a Republican incumbent each time. I pray he is given the opportunity to defeat Bush, so that America can prosper as it begins its journey towards a peaceful existence with the world community.
If you would like to be inspired, as I have been, please visit Dennis' website, www.kucinich.us. Listen to him speak. He offers truth and concrete solutions, not fluff. He is a man of integrity, and this is a grassroots campaign, by the people and for the people. Please vote in the primaries because your vote does count, and it is up to us to reclaim our great nation!
Peacefully Yours,
Sunny Dawn Freeman Genz
